Our primary focus is on sharing and teaching others what Computer Aided System Engineering (CASE) is and how we apply implementations using Unified Modeling Language (UML).
I have been teaching architects and others how to deliver Systems and Software for over 20 years. In my previous company, in which I have since retired, I produced over 1,000 videos on Kaltura, their YouTube-like platform. Now it's time to share what I know and can do with the world.
In this YouTube channel we will we will teach how to do UML, primarily using Sparx Systems' Enterprise Architect (EA). Sparx EA is the best platform for CASE and UML I have used thus far. I started on ArgoUML, and eventually started using StarUML so that I could migrate my Rational Rose .mdl files via XMI for use in other tooling. Rational Rose had been my favorite UML platform until the company was acquired and I was unable to migrate my .mdl's to that platform.
The CEO at the time, asked me to find an alternative to Rational, and I had heard of Sparx from a friend in Japan. Sparx Systems is an Australian software company founded by Geoffrey Sparks in 1996 in Creswick, Victoria in Australia.

You can see our Playlists cataloged in our UMLO Learning Channel page. Here we provide links and brief descriptions of each. You also may see Recap, Wrap up, and Outro links so that you can get a summary of what videos are covering. This is helpful before diving into long videos. Be sure to look through the Chapters.
We have created several Playlists to watch at your leisure. TIP: I talk slow on purpose, but if you things to move faster, simply set the YouTube Playback speed to 1.5 or 2. Be sure to bookmark Chapters so that you can return when necessary. I tell many of my modelers as they are practicing to add the Hyperlink to their model(s) that they may be following.
Brand new? You may want to start here: Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA) Getting Started
Lost on the Sparx Tabs and Ribbon Menus, or returning to Sparx EA and things have change? I created Sparx Tabs and Ribbons. Here you can pick the Tab that is important to your work and follow the chapters.
Comfortable with the Sparx tooling but need to jump into some modeling or get a refresher? Check out the Series on "The Basics".
Ready to advance from Basics and Beginner subjects to Intermediate? Go to Systems Architecture Delivery Series.
Want to see some advanced subjects? Go to Sparx Advanced Topics. We will be adding more subjects regularly.
Want to just focus on Diagram Type subjects? I started several playlists including Use Cases, Reporting, Activity Diagrams, and soon will add Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and more
Setting up your own Sparx Cloud environment(s)? We are building a playlist on Sparx Cloud.
Outside of our UMLO Shorts, we have a Tips and Tricks Playlist. The difference is that Shorts may answer questions or act as a trailer to our content, while Tips and Tricks is meant to expose things I do to make modeling even faster and effective in Sparx EA.
